We were absolutely delighted with the service provided by Julia at Chesnut Books in helping to stock our new school library. They selected a fantastic range of exciting, age-appropriate and inclusive texts, tailored to our pupil numbers and school context. Their collaboration with the interior design team ensured that books were beautifully positioned to match the new furniture and create an inviting reading environment.

They worked closely with our library staff to organise the layout, supplemented class libraries with thoughtful additions, and went above and beyond – travelling across the country and spending several days on-site to ensure everything was perfectly in place. The aftercare has been just as impressive, with personalised advice on sourcing books to support specific pupil needs, such as those dealing with bereavement. A professional, knowledgeable and highly personalised service from start to finish – hugely appreciated by our whole school community. Would thoroughly recommend.”

What People Are Saying

“An Amazing Experience”

Fantastic knowledge and service. The ability to recommend books on a theme beyond what is 'mainstream' is a real asset. The personal touch provides great value beyond that which the usual online retailers can provide.”

— Etwall Primary School

“THANK YOU SO MUCH for the wonderful books!

It was so wonderful to see some of our most vulnerable children excited about books. It has also been wonderful walking into classrooms and seeing the children with the books on their desks and hearing them talk about how much they have enjoyed reading them.

One particular highlight for me was one of our Year 6 children saying ‘Wow! This character looks just like me!’ ”

— Albermarle Primary School (Pupil Premium Service)

“What an incredible service!”

“I used Chestnut Books to support in ordering new texts for our KS1 & Reception children. We now have a lovely set of complementary books to support the teaching of our foundation subjects and to teach English. Without her brilliant recommendations we wouldn’t have come across some of these books. We’re so excited to plan for them. Thank you for a fantastic service and quick turn around.”

— Hilton Primary School

“Fantastic service from start to finish!

Being a Reception teacher, I have been looking into developing reading in our continuous provision areas for some time. This was proving to be a real challenge with not knowing where to start so I contacted Julia for some help and advice. She has been amazing throughout…working closely with me every step of the way to ensure she could get me exactly what I was looking for and at a really good price. Literally doing all the research and bartering for me whilst all I needed to give was a list of topics. Her service has been of extremely high quality, with very quick delivery (books personally delivered to the door). The books themselves are fantastic…great quality, interactive, colourful and age appropriate which will help to develop lots of reading skills. I really couldn’t have asked for any more than that! I would highly recommend ordering from Chestnut Books! ”
